Introduction:

"My name is Nicole. I have a longstanding interest in other cultures and the middle east in particular. I am looking to practice my fledgling arabic with anyone patient enough to listen, and just be around to hear more of it."

Do you have any experience working with Non-Profits?I ask this because we are considering establishing ourselves as a Non-Profit in the near future.

"I have been volunteering tutoring ESL to Arabic speakers at the AAANY this past summer. Also in high school tutored ESL to Spanish speakers."

Have you visited the Middle East, and, if so, where and in what capacity? For that matter, where have you traveled outside the US?Do you speak other languages besides English & Arabic?Feel free to share whatever info you'd like.

"Traveled to: italy, mexico, japan, france etc... in ME: Jordan and Egypt. KSA, Bahrain and others when i was very young (born in KSA). Traveled to Jordan for work first and now to visit my Lebanese fiance. I speak okay Spanish, and a little italian."

How did you find this group and, now that you're here, what do you want from it? For example, do you prefer Middle Eastern Music events, Dinner Parties, Language Workshops, Live Theatre, or just getting together to meet new people and have fun?

"I saw a sign on the subway for meetup.com and noticed arabic language and culture listed on it. I enjoy the culture, the food and the music, but primarily i want to learn more arabic from native speakers whenever i have the chance."

Do you speak Arabic? If so, what dialect(s). Do you know Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha?) Can you read, write & speak Fusha? Answering this question will help us to better offer suitable language workshops for the club.

"Shweh 3rabi. Levantine, particularly Jordanian and Lebanese. I know only a few words and the basic structure of Fussha. My goal is to learn both Fussha and Lebanese spoken dialect. Slowly but surely."

What is your current job/profession/field? What is your dream job?

"I am a graphic designer, previously of books, currently of packaging. I love it, it is my dream job."
