"I take Arabic at USDA and am interested in learning about educational resources, going to cultural events, starting to use the language and meet people who are interested in Arabic, as well!"

What is something distinctly 'You' which most people don't know about?

"Ummm... I don't know... I'm pretty out there about most everything. I say what I mean and let people know just about everything..."

What is your favorite Middle Eastern Dish?

"That's hard... I love ma'ashi. Can't go wrong with great baba or kebab. And I haven't even begun to talk about sweets... I can't pick one. Sorry."

How did you find this group and, now that you're here, what do you want from it? For example, do you prefer Middle Eastern Music events, Dinner Parties, Language Workshops, Live Theatre, or just getting together to meet new people and have fun?

"Found the group searching for Arabic language resources. I'm up for all of the above, but I'd especially like to work on the language and I love Arabic movies. "

Have you visited the Middle East, and, if so, where and in what capacity? For that matter, where have you traveled outside the US?Do you speak other languages besides English & Arabic?Feel free to share whatever info you'd like.

"I studied at the American University in Cairo for a year. Travelled to Jordon, Morocco, and Turkey while I was there (and throughout Egypt). I used to study Spanish, but my skills there are pretty rusty."

Do you speak Arabic? If so, what dialect(s). Do you know Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha?) Can you read, write & speak Fusha? Answering this question will help us to better offer suitable language workshops for the club.

"I am not comfortable speaking Arabic (due to lack of practice). I would say I'm an intermediate-high beginner. I can read, but I have a very limited vocabulary and haven't had practice speaking with others. I know a couple Egyptian words, but am working on fusha."
